Zhanna Sinitsyna was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and trained at the Vaganova Academy under the Kirov Ballet’s former prima ballerina, Ninel Kourgapkina who was one of the Vaganova’s favorite students. While at the Academy she studied Pas de Deux technique in the class of Marat Daukaev. Zhanna Sinitsyna made her professional debut with the Kirov Ballet where she was a member for two seasons, touring to Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, and throughout the United States. Ms. Sinitsyna has performed as a company member with the Boston Ballet and Tulsa Ballet Theatre and as a guest with New Jersey Ballet and Colorado Ballet. While being a soloist at the Tulsa Ballet, she was also a faculty member at the Tulsa School of Ballet, the school that served as the official school of the Tulsa Ballet and which was founded by former dancers of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, Moscelyne Larkin and Roman Jasinski. 

Zhanna Sinitsyna has danced the lead roles in many ballets, the most well known being Odette in Swan Lake, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Nikia in La Bayadere, Tatiana in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and a leading role in Balanchine’s Prodigal Son. In 2003 and 2004 Ms. Sinitsyna toured China and Taiwan with Ballet Internationale. She was a leading soloist of Ballet Internationale for seven seasons. She was also a member of the faculty of The Clara R. Noyes Academy whose principal at the time was Vladilen Semenov, a world-renowned teacher and a former principal dancer of the Kirov Ballet. In December of 2004, Indianapolis Star named Ballet Internationale’s production of The Sleeping Beauty the best dance performance of the year and Zhanna Sinitsyna was specifically mentioned for her standout portrayal of the Lilac Fairy.

In 2006 and 2007 Zhanna Sinitsyna was a master teacher at Central Indiana Academy of Dance’s summer intensives where she taught variations, acting, and character dance classes. In 2007 and 2008 Ms. Synitsyna was invited to teach summer classes at the Metropolitan Ballet Academy in Arlington, Texas and at the Gregory Hancock Dance Theater in Indianapolis.

In October of 2008, alongside many other world-renowned artists, Ms. Sinitsyna performed at the “Alma Mater” gala at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, Russia, where she danced “The Dying Swan”

In 2005-09 Ms. Sinitsyna was the ballet director of the Elite Art Academy. As a choreographer Zhanna Sinitsyna staged and choreographed three two-act ballets performed by the Elite Art Academy: The Snow Queen (2007), Cinderella (2008), and Coppelia (2009). In addition to full length ballets Ms. Sinitsyna staged and choreographed numerous ballet variations and dances.
